The D.H. Lawrence Music Festival returns to Eastwood on Saturday 6th September, and this year it's bigger than ever — 150+ acts, 16 stages, 15 venues, all absolutely free.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the festival kicks off at 12:00pm in the garden of the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum, running until 3:00pm there, before spilling into pubs and venues across Eastwood from 2:00pm through to 11:00pm. Expect a massive showcase of local talent spanning genres and generations — there's truly something for everyone.
The event is the brainchild of Ben Mark Smith, frontman of Ben Mark Smith and The Balancing Acts, and a tireless champion of East Midlands music. It's part of the wider six-week D.H. Lawrence Festival, a community-powered celebration of heritage, literature, visual arts, and of course, music.
Co-produced by the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum, D.H. Lawrence Society, Haggs Farm Preservation Society, Broxtowe Women’s Project, Eastwood Town Council, and supported by Broxtowe Borough Council, the festival doesn't just honour Lawrence's legacy — it breathes life into his hometown.
