There's something reassuring about a band that doesn't try to reinvent rock & roll, instead grabbing it by the scruff of the neck, shaking it awake and sending it charging headfirst into the modern age. That's exactly what Athens five-piece Dismiss have been doing since forming in 2021.

Hailing from Greece's thriving underground scene, Dismiss are Jo (vocals), Sellyoursouls (rhythm guitar), Monica (bass and vocals), Andy (lead guitar) and Peepeace (drums). Together they've forged a sound that takes the swagger of classic 70s rock, injects it with punk attitude and urgency, and delivers it with enough raw energy to leave a dent in the nearest wall.

Their debut album, Funeral Fund, arrived in May 2026 and immediately announced Dismiss as a band with far more on their mind than simply making noise. Across twelve tracks, the record explores the messy reality of growing up, dealing with pressure, battling self-doubt and navigating those moments where everything feels on the verge of falling apart. Thankfully, rather than wallowing in the darkness, Dismiss charge through it with grit, determination and a healthy dose of rock & roll defiance.

“Dismiss Bring Greek Rock & Roll Thunder To The UK”

Tracks such as On The Edge, I Need, Down In Flames and Won't Be Coming Home showcase exactly what makes the band tick. Big hooks, driving riffs and enough punk-fuelled attitude to keep things dangerous without ever sacrificing melody.

While Funeral Fund has helped introduce the band to a wider audience, Dismiss have already built a reputation in Greece as a formidable live act. Loose, loud and gloriously unpolished in all the right ways, their shows capture the kind of chemistry that can't be manufactured. It's the sound of five musicians feeding off each other's energy and dragging the audience along for the ride.

Now they're bringing that reputation to the UK for the first time with a five-date tour this July. The run begins at the legendary Hope & Anchor in London on 22 July before rolling through Preston, Brighton and Stockport, wrapping up at The Fulford Arms in York on 26 July.

Sadly, there's no Nottingham date on the schedule this time around, but if Dismiss make the impact we suspect they will, we'd be surprised if they don't find their way to our corner of the East Midlands sooner rather than later.

UK Tour Dates

22 July – Hope & Anchor, London

23 July – The Ferret, Preston

24 July – The Pipeline, Brighton

25 July – Spinning Top, Stockport

26 July – The Fulford Arms, York
