Finn Alexander and The Forever Party
From the sunbaked shores of Fremantle, Western Australia, emerges a band that doesn’t just perform – they ignite. Meet Finn Alexander and The Forever Party – a genre-bending, emotionally charged alt-rock collective who’ve been quietly storming stages across Australia and are now firmly on our radar.
Led by the poetic and unrelenting Finn Alexander Mickle, the band’s line-up reads like a who’s who of musical dynamism: Elise Hiatt, Patrick Nielsen, Rory Lowe-McLoughlin, and Finn Pearson round out a group that blends fire with finesse. Their debut album Party On, released on 21st June 2024, proved they’re not here to mess around – and their latest single Blue Ribbons (out now, 6th June) is a fierce follow-up that hints at even bigger things for their forthcoming sophomore record in 2025.
Clocking in at a tight 3:14, Blue Ribbons is a guitar-driven, bass-hooked slice of alt-rock heaven. There’s something instantly magnetic about it – layered soundscapes swell beneath Finn’s introspective vocals, flickering between melodic melancholy and full-bodied rock catharsis. Think Nick Cave’s dark romanticism, Arcade Fire’s soaring crescendos, and Father John Misty’s lyrical bite, with enough sonic swagger to stand entirely on their own.
This is a band that lives to perform – their live show is electric, raw, and unpredictable. No surprise then that they've shared stages with Aussie heavy-hitters like Grace Cummings, Spacey Jane, Carla Geneve and Southern River Band. Festival appearances at Wave Rock Weekender and Nannup Music Festival have only added to their cult following, and trust us – it’s only growing.
Finn Alexander and The Forever Party are no passing thrill. They’re the slow-burn spark that turns into a bonfire. Keep your ears open and your lighters ready – the party’s just getting started.
