Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada, this shoegaze indie outfit are embarking on a tour in support of their self-titled debut album. Think Cocteau Twins meets Mazzy Star, with guitars that recall My Bloody Valentine if they'd ever discovered the volume control also goes down.

A great example is the outro on 'Croydon Ave (To Meet You)', where swirling, crescendoing guitars sit atop the drums, urging you to join them as they take you higher, before letting you float gently back down.

Latest single 'Sad Summer' is as good a place as any to start. Its hauntingly sweet vocals hide the darker edge that runs through much of the album's lyrics and themes. If 'Sober' doesn't give you a little musical gut punch, nothing will. It's easy to see why 'Camera Shy' was a single: it's a perfect slice of indie pop, a three-minute earworm designed to stay with you long after you've finished listening.

If you like your guitar-based indie dream pop with an edge, sundayclub have you covered.

sundayclub play The Grove, Nottingham, on Tuesday 13th October. Their debut album, SUNDAYCLUB, is out now.
