The Public Eye

The Public Eye are a four-piece indie rock force hailing from Derby, England, formed in late 2021 and already carving out a name for themselves with infectious vocal hooks, razor-sharp riffs, and a stage presence that demands your attention. The line-up features Joey Greener (vocals, rhythm guitar), Jonah Radford (lead guitar), Cavan Brady (bass), and Zack Bednall (drums) — four musicians whose chemistry is as tight as their grooves.

Their sound pulls threads from indie rock and post-punk, nodding to influences like Fontaines D.C., Arctic Monkeys, and Radiohead, while still delivering something uniquely their own. Lyrically, they’re sharp observers, penning tracks that marry social commentary with raw emotion, all set to punchy rhythms and driving guitar lines.

The Public Eye first turned heads with tracks like Upper Parliament and Broken Politicians, earning them spins on BBC Introducing and a debut on BBC Radio 6 with Out of Line. They’ve stormed festival stages, including Y Not?, and left a mark wherever they’ve played — including their electric set at Sonic Boom in Burton-on-Trent last year, where we at NottsRocks were blown away by their energy and precision.

2025 has seen them keep the momentum going with the single Julia, followed by Gently in July — both further proof that they’re a band on an upward trajectory. Now, they’re gearing up for what promises to be a legendary headline set at The Hairy Dog in Derby on Saturday 30th August 2025. If you want to see a band at the top of their game, get your ticket.
